Date Dessert with Almonds
Almond Date Dessert Recipe
Materials
2 cups semolina
4 cups of flour
Grated peel of 1 orange
Half a tea glass of orange juice
1 tea glass of oil
1 cup of yoghurt
1 packet of baking powder
1 pack of vanilla

Inside Material
300 gr Hurmatat Dates
40 unsalted peeled almonds
Half a tea glass of water

For the sherbet
4 glasses of water

PREPARATION
Remove the seeds of the dates and put them in a pot with half a tea glass of water and cook for 3-5 minutes.
Add the almonds and remove from the heat after a few minutes. Leave aside to cool.
For the sherbet, put Hurmatat date juice and 4 cups of water in a pot and stir until it boils.
Boil for 10 minutes on low heat to thicken the syrup. Remove from the stove and let it cool.
Put the orange juice, orange peel, oil, yoghurt, vanilla and baking powder in a deep bowl and whisk.
Add semolina first, then flour and knead to a smooth dough.
Take egg-sized pieces from the dough and roll them out thinly with a rolling pin.
Using a water glass or the mouth of a cup, cut round pieces from the dough.
Divide the mixture so that there is an almond in each piece.
Close the dough and place it on the tray.
Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes until it turns pink.
Remove from oven and pour cold syrup.
Serve warm or cold.
